According to a well-known leaker, Kepler_L2, AMD is reportedly targeting clock speeds ranging from 3.1 GHz to 3.5 GHz for RDNA 5. The leaker claims to have gained access to AMD's internal materials. This suggests that AMD's new silicon will not only feature significant microarchitectural changes but also offer a raw frequency boost of approximately 4-14% over the factory-rated Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU.
The current out-of-the-box boost frequency for this top RDNA 4 GPU SKU is 2.97 GHz, indicating that AMD is planning a substantial increase in clock speeds. However, it is unclear whether these clock speeds are intended for integrated graphics, dedicated graphics, desktop, or mobile platforms, leaving some questions unanswered.
Additionally, RDNA 5 does not appear to be launching soon, with a supposed release date likely in mid-to-late 2027. As of now, we are less than a year away from the launch, it seems. As the launch date approaches, more details will emerge, allowing us to form a clearer picture of what to expect.
